After the Battle

This lone French Cuirassier is left contemplating the silence of the battlefield, where before there was such confusion.

This painting is done in Acrylic.

Mongolian Warhorse

I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas to my uncle in Atlanta that gave me these Mongolian miniatures. The lamellar armor is so much fun to paint!

I added sand and grass to the base using glue.

Conducting an experiment

First I will say that my one year old Mac Computer died last night. However I was able to save my comic files by using a travel  drive!

I experimented with my brush pens and color pencils this weekend. First I inked in my picture.

Next I shaded it with my shades of gray brush pen set.

Then I colored it with the color pencils.

Just a sketch

I drew this while listening to a football game on the radio. You can't do this if you watch it on TV.  Like these guys:

The Emperor is watching us!

Here is a pen and ink drawing that I was experimenting with. I used brush pens and markers to get the final effect that I wanted.

The French Cuirassiers, one of my all time Napoleonic favorites!

A post!

I have been really busy these past couple of weeks and I am about to loose my mind. At least the French Chronicles is posting itself when it is supposed to.

Staying Above Water!

Lately it has been so frustrating not having things go as planned. For example The French Chronicles didn't update automatically today. So I had to do it manually. Hopefully no one noticed.

This is an older sketch of Jacque and Cheval enjoying a summer dip in the stream.

So close!

I've got the the French Chronicles up but I am still working on getting enough strips ready for the site.  You can go and check it out!

Here is a sneak peek at the comic!

And here is cinematic pick of Cheval the star horse in my comic.

Look! An Appaloosa!

Here is a photo that I played with in Photoshop. Its my younger brother's toy. He made me say this. Anyway... trying to improve my art.

This guy was in my driveway and I had to carry him into the house... talk about lazy. My Mother made me Mississippi Mud, so I've got a major sugar buzz! Maybe that's why I'm babbling on and on here.

Character studies for the French Chronicles

Below are a few character studies and designs for my upcoming comic.

My Sword and my Life!

This weekend I bought a new video game called Mount and Blade War-band. However there were some blood sprites in it. "I DON'T LIKE GAMES WITH BLOOD!" So I was able to swap them out for dust sprites. It is one of the coolest games I have played with endless scenarios! I would have gotten further along in my quest if my brother wouldn't have been on it till 12:42 am!

Here is a drawing I did while my brother played the game!

New pens = (!)

My brother gave me a pen set for my un-birthday and I love it!

Here are the French 5th infantry unit holding their own against the Prussian Cuirassiers.

I have always enjoyed drawing climactic battles. I don't know why I haven't done more in the past! History is more fun with battle pictures to go with it!

Coming soon...

The French Chronicles is almost ready and the site is coming along nicely!

And below, my friends, is a glimpse of our exhausted heroes after the long and desperate Battle of Waterloo. Unfortunately for them they were French.

Napoleonic miniatures

Collecting miniature soldiers and playing 25mm war games has been my latest hobby. I have been painting them for about two years. All the ones that I have painted have been 25mm.

But this weekend I decided to try my luck at the 54mm dragoon.

The 24mm right and the 54mm on the left

Horse Close ups...

I added dirt and miniature flowers to the base...
